Watch ‘My Sister’s Keeper’, a movie that is sure to get the most stone-hearted person reach for a tissue.
An adaptation of Jodi Picoult’s novel, My Sister’s Keeper, is the story of a young girl who sues her parents for the right to make her own decision about her body.

Anna is a “designer baby”, made in a dish to be spare parts for her elder sister Kate, who suffers from leukemia. Since birth Anna has been an involuntary donor of blood, bone marrow and other bodily substances which Kate requires for her survival. But when Anna is faced with a kidney donation, she decides to put a stop to this painful servitude of hers. Anna sues her parents for medical emancipation.

The happily married couple-Sara and Brian are devastated when they hear that their daughter Kate has leukemia. Via vitro fertilization, they get Anna into the world. Anna’s body is genetically engineered to be a match for her elder sister. When Anna was born, her cord blood was donated to Kate. Later she donates blood and bone marrow to keep Kate breathing life. Anna finally hires a lawyer when she is expected to donate one of her kidney to Kate. She wants medical emancipation from her parents to gain the right to make decisions about her body herself.

Later in the movie we realize the reason for Anna initiating the lawsuit. Her sister does not want Anna to donate her kidney. Kate was tired of being sick and leading a dead life. She is tired of being a burden on Anna. Because of her, Anna too can not lead a normal life. Anna like her is constantly in and out of hospitals.

The movie is interlaced with the flashback of the relationship between the two sisters and the relationship between the siblings as a result of Kate’s health. The movie also showcases the third sibling, Jesse who feels neglected by his parents because of Kate. Jesses is Anna’s elder brother who is a troubled teen. Anna and Jesses relate to one another very well as they both feel neglected by their parents who are constantly bothered about Kate. Sara, the mother of the three is aware that she has been neglecting Anna and Jesses, but loves them equally.

The movie is remarkable and utterly exquisite in its execution. The concept of a domestic drama conflicted deeply in the crossroads of family love and wounds is seriously un-thought of till date.

Directed by Nick Cassavetes and based on Jodi Picoult’s bestseller, My Sister’s Keeper is a seamless convey of a tragic tale from multiple point of view. It tells us what impact a major illness has on each family member in a shocking and devastating way.

In this sequel, Scrat is still nabbing the ever elusive nut and falls in love. A baby mammoth is on its way to the world. Diego is suffering from a feline identity crisis and Sid has hijacked dinosaur eggs.

After the super-hit blockbuster, Ice Age and Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaur is sure going to be another hit. A new life is forming in Ellie. The birth of a baby mammoth leaves Manny anxious to ensure everything is perfectly in order for when his baby arrives. Diego, the sober-toothed tiger is being treated like a house cat. Being with his pals, he is becoming a sober cat unlike the wild cat, once upon a time. Sid the sloth, in pursuit of creating his own family, steals some dinosaur eggs which leads him ending up in a world where dinosaurs roam free. Her herd now has to rescue him for the dinosaurs. Scrat is still holding on to his beloved acorn and finds romance in a female saber-toothed squirrel named Scratte. Dodging dinosaurs and coming face to face with dangers, left-right and centre, the herd meets a one-eyed swashbuckling weasel named buck, who skillfully hunts dinosaurs.

The movie, apart from fun and entertainment is a celebration of parenthood. With Manny and Ellie having a baby mammoth coming and Sid becoming the mother (oh wait! Isn’t he suppose to be a father, owing to his gender?), Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a gift for every mother (and their kids). The best part, Scrat will finally have a new obsession- a new found love.

Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifia, Chris Wedge and Simon Pegg have done a fantastic hob offering their voice to the characters. The movie is a must watch for every child and parent for a promising time of entertainment.

A fashion reporter stumbles on a murder investigation in the Nation’s Capitol, only to be thrown for a loop when her police detective former lover is assigned to the case.

Watch Killer Hair, from Ellen Byerrum’s popular ‘crime of fashion mystery’ series. The movie is about a fashion columnist who ends up unveiling a murder that takes place in a hair saloon.

Lacey is an investigating reporter, who lands up as being a fashion columnist in a third-rate newspaper in Washington D.C. When a hair stylist is found dead with an atrocious haircut, the cops call it a suicide, but Lacey sees the details that others fail to and finally prove it to be a murder and not suicide. Could you even think that fashion could be dangerous beyond your credit card balance? The movie also involves Lacey’s ex-boyfriend who claims to be divorced but in reality is not.

Lacey Smithsonian moved to Washington for only two reasons. To advance her career as a journalist and to get away from her boyfriend, Vic. She finds herself writing for a Washington D.C newspaper giving ideas on fashion. Her sense of humor and artful trick of playing with words makes her a popular columnist, only that the job does not satisfy her. Her humorous writing has influenced the wardrobes of the rich and famous in Washington. One day, a hair stylist is found dead in the salon of her friend. The police soon declare it a suicide, but things don’t end up as a suicide. The victim’s hair has been chopped in a very weird manner and Lacey, the fashion chick, knows that a stylist, who took pride in her looks, would never want to look like this ever. Lacey, in search of adventure digs in deeper and comes face-to-face with her ex, Vic. Vic who still happens to have feelings for her, is the investigating officer of the case. He has moved to Washington and most definitely divorced by now. With the support and encouragement of her friends, Sarah and Sadie, Lacy joins the pieces of the puzzle and finally unravels the biggest scandals of Washington.

The movie is sure fun to watch as the story unfolds and the clues gradually untangle. However, the number of unlikely twists and coincidences makes it hard to believe. Lacey runs into the right person, at the right time. She meets the person who always knows the information she is looking for. Another unbelievable thing is the glamour suspect who confides everything only to Lacey and no one else. And Vic, her ex-boyfriend is coincidently assigned the same case.

Overall the movie is good, but if given an option, I would read the book. According to me, this works better on a printed material. Lacey is a character that is more fun to image.
