Trunk is a film for those who enjoy suspense, thrill and lots of apprehension. The film delineates the life of two young college goers. Trunk shows the way in which the lives of two young students get drastically changed after they come across a series of lethal accidents. The film is a dark comedy set in the Californian desert and the actors give their best to bring out the features of a thriller.
The audiences keep on waiting eagerly for what will happen next. The two students involved in the murky accidents were slowly dragged into a dark hole. They could very well feel that their bright future had turned dark because of their deeds. The choices, which they make, assure them of a fearful life ahead. The impending fear of police and lifetime in prison makes them desperate to come out of the situation. But all their attempts go in vain as the two friends realize that their initial choices were solely responsible for their doom ahead.
Starring Kylie Gallner and Zachery Bryan, Trunk is film with sudden twists and turns, which you would never come across in life. The film has duration of about 20 minutes and is regarded to be a roller coaster ride for the audiences. The theme of the movie is very different from the movies belonging to its genre. As because it is a short film, much is kept in dark about the past of the characters.
The beauty of a short film is well portrayed in the movie. Films of longer duration have enough time to explain the past and deduce the future. But short films are intended to be crisp, short and easily understandable. Whatever is shown in the film is just a part of the lives of the two friends. The director did his best to entwine their future and past within the present span of the event.
The film is open ended. At times the audiences may feel that it came to an end abruptly. That is not the fault of the director; it is the rule of the short films. The exotic location in which the entire film was shot is praiseworthy. The dark features of the movie are very much in sync with the rough scenario of the California desert. The film is worth watching as viewers are assured to experience a movie with a difference. So don’t miss it.
