Directed by Andres Schaer, the movie, “The Hairy Tooth Fairy” has nothing to do with fairies in it. The movie is about a mouse called Perez. This fuzzy, hairy sweet-natured mouse has taken up a night-time job which involves slipping into the bedrooms of children and collecting their tooth kept under their pillow. He leaves behind a coin in return of the tooth he takes. This hard working mouse spends his day working at a pearl ship which pushes him to the brink of exhaustion.
One night it happens so, that when Perez slips into Lucas room to steel his tooth, he is surprised. Perez gets a shock of his life when he learns that Lucas is wide awake, waiting to hunt the mouse who takes away baby tooth. With no other option left at hand, Perez decides to wait for Lucas, but dozes off himself. He is then discovered by Lola, an attractive female mouse who takes shelter at Lucas residence. Both of them escape from the bedroom together and in some time form a quick bond. Lola teaches Perez salsa and bachata. When the show business producer, Gil Penkoff sees Perez perform so artistically, the greedy producer devises a cunning scheme. He kidnaps Perez, and making a spectacle of him turns a huge profit. Greed takes over the show business producer’s mind and he strikes a deal with Lucas to give him a glimpse of the mouse who steals baby tooth.
This Argentine children’s movie comes with a combination of CG-animated character and live action human actors. Like it predecessor of, The Hairy Tooth Fairy of 2006, it continues to tell the tale of Perez, the mouse. This isn’t a movie which animation loving adults would fancy, but a child will sure love this.
The tone of the movie is kept humorous and sweet. With a mouse entering a child’s room, stealing their tooth, leaving behind a coin under the pillow in return, is sure to catch any child’s fancy. Watching the mouse dance to salsa and bachata will leave the children with a mudcap experience. Gift your child the movie and see their imagination boil.
