The Book of Eli is one of 2010’s first action packed movies that stars a number of big names, one of the biggest being that of Denzel Washington who plays the lead role of the character named Eli.
The movie is set in a time wherein the end of the world is near and most of the world is destroyed. Everyone is left to fend for themselves and deeply involved in the gathering the basic stuff needed for their own survival. In the midst of all this the character of Eli truly stands out, as he doesn’t really care for the daily needs and is a man on a mission.
During his travel he reaches a little town where he stops for a drink and gets into a massive fight over a woman. The town’s chief whose name is Carnegie, role played by Gary Oldman, notices the skills Eli has and requests him to stay in his town instead of wandering the wastelands.
Carnegie soon finds out that Eli has the last remaining copy of the Bible and wants it for himself, so he can use it to control the lawless town that he lives in. However, Eli doesn’t want to give up his copy of the Bible and is stuck in the town as he falls in love with the beautiful Solara, role played by Mila Kunis.
One of the coolest things in the movie is that you will see almost every character wearing sunglasses. There is a reason why they all are wearing sunglasses and to find that out you might want to check out this profound thriller movie.
