Ratko the Dictator’s son is a beautiful story of a young boy whose father is a big shot in politics. Starring Jeffrey Ballard, Curtis Armstrong, Blake Anderson, Jan Bos, Jay Brazeau and a host of famous actors, Ratko the Dictator’s son is a movie with a simple plot with a great impact. Initially the audiences may have an idea that it is a movie, which portrays the journey of a dictator’s son to US for attending college.

Written by Robert Mittenthal and Mike Rubiner, Ratko the Dictator’s son is a movie, which will touch your heart. The movie comes in the genre of comedies but has a wonderful substance. Ratko is the son of a dictator who travels all along to US for his studies. At college he meets a variety of young girls and boys and slowly deciphers that his father is a dictator.

The film has plenty of comedy scenes and comic dialogues. But the disappointing part is that most of these dialogues have slang in them as a result of which major part of it is bleeped over. At college Ratko meets several guys and girls. Some of them become very good friends to the youngster. In the meantime, Ratko falls for a vegetarian girl.

Director Savage Steve Holland and Kevin Speckmaier took care for every detail of the movie. The film is full of beautiful women, confused men and blue jokes. The audiences laughed their hearts out while listening to the jokes of the movie. The jokes are very funny but at times they become gross as well.

The directors have tried to portray two extremes of a culture. On one hand there is Ratko’s father with his autocratic rule. On the other hand there is Ratko, a happy- go- lucky person who is not bothered by any kind of politics or disturbances of the external world. The film is very realistic. It is the usual story of the son of a powerful father.

Whatever happens in the movie takes place at a superficial level. There is no other interpretation of any sequence. Love, hate, power play and loads of emotions cram the film at times. The main plot is lost at times. But the directors bring it back on the right track with their expertise.

So if you are planning to watch a movie that will provide you with simple entertainment, go for Ratko the Dictator’s son. It is amusing, funny and realistic.
