Public Defender Eddie Serrano (George Lopez) is a widower with a 13 year-old daughter Naomi (Daniela Bobadilla). A classic workaholic, Eddie has been M.I.A. for most of Naomi’s big moments. But when an unfortunately timed accident gives Eddie the opportunity to become the “Team Mom” for the Killer Bees, Naomi’s team in the Spring Action Classic at camp Hulka’s Rock, he grabs it.
From Nickelodeon movies and Warner Bros, comes yet another child flick, Mr. Troop Mom.
After the death of Eddie’s wife’s, Eddie isn’t sure how to fill in the void between his 13 year old daughter-Niomi, adding the gap by drowning himself into work as a lawyer. But when Niomi’s team finds itself without a mom for the Spring Action Classic, a camp competition in the wood, Eddie leaps in grabbing the opportunity to his daughters rescue. Unprepared for the outdoor action, Eddie arrives at the camp filling in the troop mom’s position, only to land the girls into trouble every now and then. Dealing with mean girls, absence of her mother and the fear of losing the completion, Niomi finds her father next to her whenever she needs. So what, if her father lands her and the entire team in trouble?
Playing the role of the troop mom, George Lopez is hilarious and the movie indeed has a heart. The movie sends out a message of father-daughter communication and teaches the audience to stay true to oneself. The Naked Brothers Band from Nickelodeon, add the extra pinch of entertainment at the end of the camp.
