Some we become fortunate enough to watch some movies, which offer not only excitement but also a good story. Generally action and adventure flicks come up with blood curdling action sequences but ignore the richness of the stories. ‘Mandie and the Secret Tunnel’ (2009) has nothing such flaws. It is a wholesome entertainment movie. It has utilized all the ingredients of a popular movie with great effect. Here exciting story, profound acting, high quality cinematography and deft direction have come together to ensure a good quality film. Basically, in the modern movie world, all varieties of movies have appeal. But ‘Mandie and the Secret Tunnel’ is unique for its essence of wide varieties of essences.
‘Mandie and the Secret Tunnel’ deals with the adventure of Mandie/Amanda. She has lost his caring father. Her mother does not have much care for her. Only Uncle Ned is her good companion during her wretched days. She gets the news that her real uncle is still alive and lives in a luxury mansion. If she is able to meet with the uncle, then her miseries will come to an end. So, she embarks upon a journey along with Uncle Ned to reach the mansion, with little knowledge about its whereabouts. Finally she manages to reach there, but to her utter dismay Amanda finds that her uncle no more lives there as he was shipwrecked and stranded in unknown place or has lost his lives. Meanwhile she finds good companions in Polly and the manager Jason. Jason informs her that she must find her father’s lost ‘will’ in order to inherit the property. Several contenders come up to claim the property. In her pursuit for the secret will, Mandie comes to know about several keys to unearth the secret. Her father’s old story about an enchanting princess appears to be an excellent guide in her mission. The movie then moves on at a flawless pace to unfurl some exciting situations.
The characterizations and script have done their best to enhance the quality of the movie. ‘Mandie and the Secret Tunnel’ will be remembered for its brilliant dialogues and high quality acting. All the actors, even the minor ones have opened out their hearts to deliver deliver powerful punches on behalf of the movie. Amanda Waters in the role of Polly and Brandi Nicole Feemster as Liza have performed some wonderful tasks. Lexi Johnson as Amanda is simply fabulous. Her miseries and feats are treats to watch. Craig Reuben should also be praised for his supporting role as Uncle Ned. The movie is a depiction of the famous ‘Mandie’ story series, but it has surpassed the books in attraction.
The lovers of bloodshed and violence may not find the movie to satisfy their thirst for blood, but ‘Mandie and the Secret Tunnel’ has done its best to satisfy all kinds of taste with its highly absorbing situations. It is a movie of electric effect, but without the painful shocks.
