Watch the fourth computer-animated movie from 20th Century Fox’s Blue Sky studio, “Horton Hears a Who!” The story follows a pink elephant named Horton, minding his own business when he hears a mysterious scream coming from a speck. Soon, Horton discovers the speck contains a whole new world, the town of Whoville and its residents, the Whos. The mayor of Whoville pleads Horton to protect them, but a meddling kangaroo mother does not believe all this and demands Horton stays away from the children. The mother kangaroo will do anything to destroy the speck and Horton now has to help the people of Whoville and win trust amongst his people. Directed by Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino, the voice of Horton is given by Jim Carey. Steve Carell gives his voice as the Mayor of Whoville and Carol Burnett can be heard as the mean mother kangaroo amongst the other well-know voice casts. The crew has done a fantastic job of story telling. The story is maintained at a level that a child can understand while the adults enjoy the humor in it.

Cartoonist-cum-writer, Dr. Seuss whose books have delighted generation of young people, now opens one of his most beloved tales, Horton Hears a Who! Even after being ridiculed and threatened by his people who think he has lost his mind, Horton is determined to save the people of Whoville. Horton believes, “a person is a person, no matter how small.” His action embodies a lot of food for thoughts for the young minds. Horton also explains, “If you were way out in space, and you looked down at where we live, we would look like a speck.”Dr. Seuss is justifyably celebrated for his wonderfully unique language, eccentric charecters and intelligent social commentary disguised as non-sense. His complexity in rhyming makes his stories equally appealing to adults as much as it does to the children.

The animationation is done wonderfully well. The town of Whoville is a visual treat, abounding in color, details and little nuggets of humor that is well worth its praises. The jungle settings is filled with joy and striking realism.
