Heist is a good movie to watch. Since it’s a movie of David Mamet, it has something to be hoped for. You will really like watching it. It’s in fact a great thriller to watch.

This movie is humorous. It has an intelligent plot and is filled up with clever twists. The dialogues have been brilliantly put and draw a sharp attention to the artifice. Although the movie has few flaws in it but the strengths and positive aspects of the movie outweigh its weaknesses.

Heist is the shipment of solid Swiss gold that is used for vulnerable stopover at Boston. Joe Moore is the thief. He is a pro and his crew that consists Pinky Pincus, Bobby Blaine Delroy Lindo, Girl Friday Fran—is on their retirement’s edge. The security camera has caught Moore’s picture while he was doing his last job. So, he is planning to sail off to region that is unknown to Fran.

Mickey Bergman spent lots of cash setting up Swiss deal. So he is simply not prepared to hear no for this big task. Moreover, for complicating matters, he asserts on sending out his nephew for keeping any eye on all the things.

The movie’s set up is great and two big robbers have shown lots of brains and poise in the movie. Mamet unfortunately becomes too beguiled with techniques of his own. As triple crosses and double crosses pile up, Heist begins to feel like it is contending against itself to a certain extent than telling any interesting story.

Some twists extend plausibility to maximum, topped by final turn. The characters although lose some depth in process but is replaced by the dialogue and speech which never shakes the unnaturalness.

Mamet’s dialogue will always be a joy to the ear. Though we watch out its artifice, it is hard to care. Lindo and Hackman play off one another with seasoned professionalism. The unusual acting style of Pidgeon fits neatly into proceedings and the other casts never misses the note.

There is a terrific gunfight at the climax of the movie, which hums with realism lacking somewhere else in proceedings. It is refreshing to see single act of aggression of Heist as messy, harrowing and awkward. Although there are some errors in the making of the film, but none of them are quite fatal. The movie is worth watching.
