Genre: Drama
IMDB Review
Release: 19 March 2010
Movies belonging to the category of Drama’s have their own set of viewers who are really fond of watching such movies. Extraordinary Measures released this 2010 is one such movie which falls in this category. The movie starring Harrison Ford, Brendan Fraser and Keri Russell is all about the Pompe disease and its consequences on the life of the affected as well as their family.
The movie which had high expectations just managed to match it. Extraordinary Measures is adapted from a book by the famous journalist Geeta. So those of you, who were happy reading the book, will be happy watching the movie too. But the rest of you who expect a movie to be as perfect as it can be will not be contented with the efforts of the team.
The main reason behind this difference in opinion is because the movie barely meets the logical standards and all those who are aware of the Pompe disease find it difficult to digest the fact that two young children who were diagnosed of the disease when they were 15 months and 7 days respectively, managed to survive 4 years. In reality, most children who are diagnosed with the disease do not live more than two years.
The next thing which disappoints the viewers is the Character Dr. Robert Stonehill. This character played by Harrison Ford does not meet the standards of a doctor who has avoided the inevitable. Other than these few setbacks the movie is too good a drama and anyone who gives a rest to his brain while watching enjoys it a lot.
