In the movie “District 9”, a huge space ship hovered over the Johannesburg sky. Inside the ship, there were many creatures that were starving and confused. They were rescued and then taken to a camp of refugees in a place called the District 9. Within the next 20 years, the town soon turned into a settlement and started developing but the only difference was that unlike the comment settlement of human beings in the normal world, they were teeming with creatures that were tall, and skinny and had two legs. They looked like insects and their bodies had a combination of features that were mechanical as well as biological.

Those extraterrestrial creatures were known as prawns because they appeared to be crustacean. Their civilization was quite advanced than the normal human world. But they were treated with hostility and suspicion and also some amount of pity.

The South African sets hone the symbol of the movie to a newsworthy point. It is a country suffering from the problems of apartheid and lots of social problems, which are not usually brought to the light but does not require it to be done.  The implication of the movie goes far more than the national boundary, which can be said to be a representation of the entire planet.

Not a single group, starting from white soldiers and also the bureaucrats who round up and mistreat the creatures to the gangsters of Nigeria who target the aliens and also use their fascination for cat food, is quite innocent. The usual prejudice turns out to be the minimum problem that the aliens are facing. As the movie proceeds, it shows a terrorizing program for medical testing yoked to a genocidal program of business greed. A company named M.N.U. (it stands, none too subtly, for Multi-National United) has taken the population of the prawns, whose meaning is that the aliens need to be resettled in a remote place suggestive of the time of the apartheid.

The executive of the M.N.U. who had the responsibility of carrying out the operation is Wikus van der Merwe who is very nervous and his father-in-law is the company head. He is not at all authoritative and is a type of person who gives a bad name to the word “nepotism”. The movie speaks a lot about the sense of humor of Mr. Blomkamp and his opinion about his species.

The story is quite thought provoking. The movie-maker inserts his ideas in a very innovative, propulsive way and creates suspense full of entertainment, something that respects any form of intelligence and race, even if that makes the appearance look bad.

The early pride that use footage which thinks to have been harvested from the news choppers and cameras and also some invisible crews, slowly goes away.

It is a story, which highlights the fact that how the socially dominant people are aware of the reasons that help them to remain popular and how the inferior ones adjust to the situations. He pays a harsh cost for the knowledge. Sometimes the only method to be a proper human being is to be isolated.
