Dear John is a romantic drama. It is scheduled to be released on the month of February of this year 2010. Starring Amanda Sefriend and Channing Tatum in lead roles; the movie is bound to be amazing. The movie is actually an adaptation of the novel of Nicholas Spark with same name.

Lasse Hallstrom is responsible for directing the movie. It is one of the most awaited movies of 2010. The movie explores love dramatics between young couple and other involutions of life. There have been few additions and alternations to dramatize the story.

You should definitely read the book before watching the movie. When you go to watch the movie you will find that the story has been religiously followed as per the book. But however, you can also point out some deviations in the movie’s plot with regards to the story of the book too.

John Tyree plays the role of a young soldier in the film. He is the one who meets Savannah Curtis when he comes home in North Carolina on his leave from Army. Tyree simply falls in love with Savannah at first sight. The young man finds it hard to forget the charismatic young student who at that time was pursuing the special education major from Wrightsville Beach. After few dating they both start liking each other and fall in love.

Now it’s time for John to experience his army life. He is also forced to leave his girlfriend for the work commitments, Hign makes a decision of marrying Savannah while he completes the tenure on Army and simply promises to come back to her as soon as he finishes with the deployment. Both of them keep in touch with one another by means of letters for about seven years. For John, the letters of Savannah were the only thing, which kept him, go through all adversities. Their fond memories of being together kept their passion simply alive inspire of physical distance.

Everything appeared to be fine until and unless the disaster of 9/11. The wave of burning spirit of revenge and fear made John forget his beloved. He then committed himself to serve out his nation. Time passed away and Savannah kept waiting until one day she wrote a letter to her ‘Dear John’ bidding him adieu forever.

The movie is an excellent exploration of relationships and emotions. There are some subplots that are entwined intricately to main plot. Just watch the movie when you have free time. It’s a touching film and you will really like watching it.
